As a cheerleader at the University of Minnesota, the birthplace of cheerleading, I wanted to create a promotional video for our future recruitment and also a brand/testimonial video sharing what makes Gopher Cheer so special to some of the veteran athletes on the team. This year is a big opportunity for the University of Minnesota Cheerleading Team, as we just won our first-ever national championship for the program last year in the small coed gameday division and placed the highest we have ever placed in the small coed traditional division. With this achievement in mind, this video showcases some of the skills the Gophers are working to compete this year, as well as how some of the athletes are feeling going into the national season this year. With recruitment season and nationals season about to kick off, this video combines both gameday and traditional elements and includes testimonials from athletes that really capture what Gopher Cheer is all about and the relationships that are created on the team. The Gophers will go on to try to defend their title, as well as earn a double national championship at the 2026 UCA National Championship in Orlando, Florida.
