Welcome to my video collection, where you will see stories brought to life through a screen. While I do not have the most experience in videography and editing, this has been a fun and exciting challenge to create for my portfolio. I prioritized capturing scenes that are important to me because I think it is more fun to create content when you genuinely love what you are working to create. The creative process for videography is unlike any I have experienced before. There are so many ideas that cycle while working to create something so visually appealing. I think videography is important for brand communications because videos are used in so many kinds of communications, from social media content, advertisements and more. For this unit, I chose to create a video for my cheerleading team, and it was so cool to see my team from a perspective that I normally do not ever see. This change in perspective has given me a whole new outlook on videography and the talent that it takes to create something that people want to watch. I hope that you enjoy my first video and the ones to come in the future.

    Gopher Cheerleading Promotional Video

    As a cheerleader at the University of Minnesota, the birthplace of cheerleading, I wanted to create a promotional video for our future recruitment and also a brand/testimonial video sharing what makes Gopher Cheer so special to some of the veteran athletes on the team. This year is a big opportunity for the University of Minnesota Cheerleading Team, as we just won our first-ever national championship for the program last year in the small coed gameday division and placed the highest we have ever placed in the small coed traditional division. With this achievement in mind, this video showcases some of the skills the Gophers are working to compete this year, as well as how some of the athletes are feeling going into the national season this year. With recruitment season and nationals season about to kick off, this video combines both gameday and traditional elements and includes testimonials from athletes that really capture what Gopher Cheer is all about and the relationships that are created on the team. The Gophers will go on to try to defend their title, as well as earn a double national championship at the 2026 UCA National Championship in Orlando, Florida.
